Spabeloscars: Best Songs (past)

I know these songs were never once considered worthy by any academy (except maybe Starfleet), but THIS is some film music you can tap your foot to. I guess we can be glad these masterworks aren't honored- can you imagine Celine murdering these?

From Godzilla Vs. The Smog Monster, the English version (!) of a song Al Gore wishes was in HIS movie...

...Save The Earth (mp3) this song is part of a strong contender in both the Opening Credits and Bond-homage categories of the spabeloscars.

Next, Godzilla's distant cousins in "War of The Gargantuas" make their opinion clear of an unfortunate lounge singer after her heartfelt tune...

...The Words Get Stuck in My Throat(mp3)

Hmm, you might enjoy watching Celine get a similar (un)fan response, you can watch the actual clip, um, as soon as I get the right file uploaded. Coming soon!

LOOKIE: All fixed- Go see that fine film clip at youtube...

...Now.

Geraldine, the Chicken Queen

Go see for yourself if what you see of that chicken...

...is what you get(takes you to youtube)

So, yes, I finally got that youtube bug (it's not as bad as some of the others going around). You can visit my playlists to find a few of my highly recommended diversions (and more Geraldine). Spabelo playlists have links to: Bobbie Gentry! Miriam Makeba! Giant Monster trailers! and more... ...The Spabelo page

The Kids are All Right

The 8 baby Dwarf Hamsters look more like hamsters now than this quickly outdated photo. In fact, they've become quite social; my sleeves are filling with rodent poop just like the old days.

In their honor, we have some of their fellow Kalifornia Kids hoistin' the brass and skins. A couple from The Rancho Mayes Middle School Band...

...Tequila!

And, their very special, award winning...

...Queen medley(mp3)

Then, The Benito High School Band with their classic rendition of......Sunshine of Your Love(mp3)

These bands won a contest last year on a San Francisco radio station. Part of their prize was getting up really early in the morning, schlepping on a long bus ride to a freezing SF parking lot to play live on the radio and be tormented by Greg Kihn.

Barbara McNair

passed away a few days ago. I remember driving through fast food lanes in the seventies with fellow ill-influenced juvenile delinquents, reclining in the shotgun seat, and proclaiming, "I see Barbara Bain and Barbara McNair dancing nude on my eyelids". Ms. McNair sang, acted, even had her own show for a while. She contributed a lot to us. I hope she died thinking of...

...Something Happy (mp3)

from the above album

I've been under the weather, I'll try to fix this track and upload a better copy later.

Spabelo treats on Youtube

This is a crazy psychedelic style 60's educational film by British Petrol. It tells of and shows all about how oil functions in your engine, accompanied by a killer electronic soundtrack. Enjoy, rate, and comment, please.

Frankie and the Hamsters

another great one gone on. Frankie Laine, to me, THE Mr. Suave and Cool. Listen to the the way he sing that "L" in "blue" on

...Jezabel...(mp3)which is my hands down fave Frankie song

The obits seem to peg him as most famous for "Rawhide"...

...so here's a hamster singing that(mp3)

thereby we recognize the great circle of life and death, as we suddenly have 9 baby hamsters (pic soon)

Hopefully, the latter will also make up for my egregious lack of Groundhog acknowledgement herein on 2-2.
