Mrs. Miller Revisited

There are people in some circles of our lives who know not Mrs. Miller. For these colleauges and loved ones, a little introduction. For you old hat-sayers, there are a few snips from the above record further down

Kicking off with the top 40 hit (yes- we really did hear it regularly on the transistor radio during those WKNR Think Summer days)...

...The Renaissance of Smut

The 7 inch pictured above is a radio promo record. It has an open-end interview so that you, the DJ, could interview Mrs. Miller in your own studio. I wish this record was in better shape, it's one of those vexing bits o' vinyl that looks clean, but doesn't play as such. I've tried a number of things, if anyone out there has some expert (as in beyond the basics) technique to share with me, I'll clean it up and upload the rest. For now here's a few "play-the-record-now" snips...

...1, 2, 3, 4, and, an interview snip

The Way To Start A Day

I believe my pal Marcel has a birthday around now, so a few tracks for the man. And don't despair over the birthdays, after all you know the alternative. Approaching that other door is Mr. Lee Hazelwood. Lee, with great foresightedness has given us the oppportunity to listen to and honor him pre-humusly on the release Cake Or Death I love this track. If you no shpeaka any of the shtart part- wait for the English- and picture me hearing this for the first time on my Ipod while drowning out the "urban contemporary" alleged music at the gym ...

...First Song of The Day

And just cuz it's by The MARCELs...

...Blue Moon

Chris Cornell swings it easy with his cover of...

...Bille Jean

Since Marcel loves hanging out in the year 2525...

...Zager and Evans

While we're there, may as well groove to Ted Heath's NOW sound now...

...Also in the year 2525

An Association with The Association

A little laugh with Russ Giguere after The Association show here in Antioch last Saturday. You know what? These guys could still play, sing, move (especially Russ), and look the picture of health. This living testament to clean living put on a nice show, though I could have done without the large cover-hits-of-the-60s section of the show. If only they could trust their fans, and lay a little of those...

...Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies on us
